Foam

The other day we made foam for Preston to play with on the balcony. He LOVED it. All we did was put some dish soap and a bit of water in the blender for a few minutes. It entertained him for almost an hour. I'll take it!

Soccer

Kid's Love Soccer! Preston has so much fun going to soccer on Saturday mornings. We enrolled Preston in an eight week soccer class through the city's recreation department. He has so much fun each week. It was fun to watch Preston listen to the coach, do the activities, dribble and make goals at the end. He kept talking about the #1 rule - no hands! all day.

Wade's Blessing

This past weekend we blessed our sweet little Wade. We were fortunate to have lots of family come into town for the occasion. It was great to see everyone! Throughout the day on Saturday everyone started arriving and by dinner time our house was full! We had Grandpa and Grandma DeFries, Uncle Eric, Aunt Maren, Nate's Grandma and Grandpa DeFries, Nate's Aunt Diane, Grandpa and Grandma Jacobson, Aunt Jen, Uncle Jason and Aunt Mary, and Cousins Tyson, Ryder, and Kyler.  We ordered pizza, made homemade ice cream, and despite the cramped quarters, everyone enjoyed visiting and passing around baby Wade.

On Sunday we took up two full rows at church. Our friend Christian and Steph came up from Mountain View and our friend Dave came with Liz to the meeting. We are really blessed to have such supportive family and friends.  After the meeting we all met up at a park by our house to have a picnic lunch. The weather was perfect for us. Thanks to Grandma DeFries who had been staying with us for the week for helping us think through everything and put together the food.  Soon after lunch everyone had to leave. It was a short weekend, but we were glad to be able to catch up with everyone.

Wade has started smiling this past week! It warms my heart every time. This morning while trying to capture a few shots of Wade's smile Preston insisted on taking a picture too. This one is my favorite and it was taken by Preston.

Easter Sunday

What a beautiful day! The boys wore their new shirts, pants and ties to church. (Thanks Grandma DeFries for the cute ties!) After church we dyed Easter eggs and had a great dinner with friends. As was tradition in Nate's family, the Easter bunny came leaving a trail of jelly beans from Preston's door to his Easter basket. Preston received a new water table for the balcony. He is so excited!

Easter Egg Hunting

Our friend put together a really fun Easter Egg hunt on Saturday. Everyone had so much fun. Not only were there Easter eggs but she also had bubbles, hula hoops, cookie decorating, coloring pages, and lunch. We had a great time! Preston would get so excited every time he found an egg. He would pick it up and immediately shake it to see what kind of noise it made. He knew there was candy in it if it rattled. What a smart kid! There was even an adult Easter egg hunt for golden eggs. Nate and I each found one.

Baking Soda and Vinegar

For awhile I have been wanting to do this little activity with Preston. I have seen in mentioned on a few blogs lately and thought Preston would really enjoy it. You use vinegar dyed with food coloring, drop it on baking soda and watch it fizz. Preston was thoroughly entertained for at least 45 minutes. I'll take it!

Love the Hair

Wade inherited his baby hairstyle from Jaime's side of the family. No matter what you do it sticks straight up. Love it!!
